Udo von
Wimmersperg, Ph.D., is a nuclear physicist educated at Oxford and
Pretoria, South Africa.
Dr. von
Wimmersperg was Head of the National Accelerator Laboratory at the
University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg and most recently
served at the Brookhaven National Laboratory.
He has a
distinguished career in research projects at Saclay in France, CERN
in Switzerland, AERE in Harwell and AWRE in Aldermaston in the
United Kingdom. He was a researcher at SUNI and the University
of Cape Town, at the Rutherford High Energy Laboratory, and the
University of Birmingham.
Dr. von
Wimmersperg's research and development projects involved coal
beneficiation; electrical, micro wave and electronic engineering,
particle accelerator theory, development, construction and
operation; solid state physics, ion implantation, diamond growth,
laser interactions; particle and nuclear physics theory and
experiment; mathematical modeling, sensors and
instrumentation.
